Gyms in Manhattan

What gyms are there in Manhattan? Looked through google. Chelsea Piers looked huge. Couldn't find prices, guessing expensive. City climbers club looked good. $15 for a days pass is good. Cheaper than Mission Cliffs in SF. Anything in Brooklyn? I'll be staying Upper West Side - 150s.

chelsea piers field house is $18 and they have open climbing a few days a week. the huge wall is part of the sport center and thats a members only, though someone told me u can buy a day pass. or most gyms let u try it out for free for a day so perhaps they would too.

otherwise there are other places in the city but they require u to join the gym or climbing center.

Not sure if you're still in the city but I went to a place at the Manhattan Plaza Health Club on a trip to NYC back in June. They do day passes and have a good cave along with a few challenging but short routes. Less expensive than the pier.

If you want a REAL gym then there's no option but to go up to The Cliffs at Valhalla, owned by fellow climber and all around awesome guy Mike Wolfort. It's well worth the day trip!
